The newly opened B&M store in Bloxwich has selected our foodbank as the local charity they wish to support and invited Carl Bolton our foodbank manager to open the store in Bloxwich on 12 July 2024.
We are grateful for their support and their generous donation of £250 to our foodbank to celebrate the store opening. Below is a picture of Carl and his wife Diana (who also volunteers at the foodbank) at the store opening
B&M have expressed the reason they chose Bloxwich & Blakenall foodbank as their local charity on their website and their words are added here:
For the unveiling of the new B&M Bloxwich store, colleagues were asked to nominate a local charity who they think deserves the spotlight for the hard work they do in the local community. They chose the team from Bloxwich and Blakenall Foodbank to take centre stage and officially open the doors to the public.
Bloxwich and Blakenall Foodbank is a part of the Trussel Trust national network of food banks. Their aim is to get to a point where no one in their community goes hungry, which is why they provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to them in crisis. Their operation focuses on three key aspects: providing emergency food, signing posting to other support services, and directly helping people find long-term solutions to their issues.
The store manager from B&M Bloxwich also said: “Bloxwich and Blakenall Foodbank really stood out for us, so we wanted to give them some VIP treatment as a thank you for all the hard work that they have done. We hope that our donation can help them to continue the great work they do.”
